Della Mae Arment, age 96, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 25, 1997 in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.
She was born October 28, 1900 at Louisburg, Missouri the daughter of David Moore and Mary Melissa Parish.
On December 26, 1918 at Edina, Missouri she was united in marriage to Joe Arment and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1986.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, an infant brother, Harley Lee Parish, a brother, Shelva Loyd Parish, and one sister, Mina Scott.
Surviving are two sons, Donald Ray Arment of Newark, Missouri and Lewis Guy Arment and his wife, Pearl of Bainbridge, Georgia, three grandchildren, David, Julie and Jody Arment, six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Mollie, Jason, Jocelyn and Joshoa Arment, four step grandchildren and fifteenth[sic] step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Arment was raised in Louisburg, Missouri where she received her education. She was a housewife and homemaker. She and her husband were lifelong residents of Knox County. Mrs. Arment was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening and quilting.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m Thursday, May 29, 1997 in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Neil Jones will officiate the services.
Buril will be in the Park View Gardens in Kirksville.
Music will be provided by Ed Anderson. Musical selections will be "Whispering Hope" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere".
Casket bearers will be Ray Snell, Joe Abell, David Arment, Jody Arment, David Lee Arment and Bill Arment.
Elza Prough, 91, of Green Castle, formerly of Kirksville, died at 12:30 Thursday afternoon (July 24, 1986) in Milan Care Center where he had been a resident 26 days.Born July 18, 1895 near Tulvania in Macon County, he was the youngest son of Daniel and Martha Jane Pinkerton Prough. On July 19, 1916 in Macon he married Eliza Francis Parish who preceded him in death on August 12, 1982. Also preceding him in death were four sisters, Emma Prough Aiple, Addie Prough Wonch, Ethel Prouch Hoelscher and Ada Prough Bishop and five brothers, John Prough, Amzy Prough, Dannie Prough, Albert Prough and Virgil Prough.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Prough was engaged in farming in Macon and Adair Counties before his retirement.
Graveside services will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday morning (July 26, 1986) in Highland Park Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Hunsaker, pastor of Hamilton Street Baptist Church will conduct the services which will be under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be: Clarence M. Craig, Steven L. Prough, Ernest Wood, Bob Love, Paul Straight and Donald R. Harrington.

Verna Alice Prough, 89, of La Plata passed away at 11:15 Saturday night (March 5, 1983) in a hospital in Marceline.The daughter of William and Emma Guthrie Parish, she was born July 8, 1893 in Macon County, Missouri. On April 22, 1914 in Macon County she was married to Amzie Prough who preceded her in death on February 1, 1920. Also preceding her in death were one great-grandson, Steven Louis Prough; one sister, Elisa F. Prough; one brother, Willis Parish and her parents, William and Emma Burthree Parish.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charles Roy (Opal) Shumaker of Route 4, La Plata, Missouri; two sons, Edwin Prough of La Plata and Olen Prough of La Plata; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Prough resided for many years in Mercyville, Missouri. For a short time she lived in La Plata before entering the Pioneer Health Center in Marceline three years ago.
She was a member of the Winigan Christian Church.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon (March 8, 1983) in the chapel of Foster-Fohn Memorial Home. The Rev. Archie Cooper conducted the services. Music was provided by Mary Weerts, singing, "Amazing Grace" and "Going Down the Valley." She was accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Burial was in the Helton Cemetery.
Casket bearers were: Calvin Allen, Kenny Baker, Steven Prough, Clarence Shott, Nile Wilson and Bill Galaspie.
