Elza Prough

Elza Prough, 91, of Green Castle, formerly of Kirksville, died at 12:30 Thursday afternoon (July 24, 1986) in Milan Care Center where he had been a resident 26 days.

Born July 18, 1895 near Tulvania in Macon County, he was the youngest son of Daniel and Martha Jane Pinkerton Prough. On July 19, 1916 in Macon he married Eliza Francis Parish who preceded him in death on August 12, 1982. Also preceding him in death were four sisters, Emma Prough Aiple, Addie Prough Wonch, Ethel Prouch Hoelscher and Ada Prough Bishop and five brothers, John Prough, Amzy Prough, Dannie Prough, Albert Prough and Virgil Prough.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Prough was engaged in farming in Macon and Adair Counties before his retirement.

Graveside services will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday morning (July 26, 1986) in Highland Park Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Hunsaker, pastor of Hamilton Street Baptist Church will conduct the services which will be under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home.

Casket bearers will be: Clarence M. Craig, Steven L. Prough, Ernest Wood, Bob Love, Paul Straight and Donald R. Harrington.
