HILLSBORO - David Lee Reimer, 22, died June 10, 1985, at Wesley Medical Center as the result of an auto accident at Jetmore. Born Dec. 2, 1962, at Goessel. He was a meat cutter for IBP and was a resident of Garden City for six months, moving from Hillsboro.

He was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, near Goessel.

Survivors: parents, Randolph and Ruby Reimer, Hillsboro; brothers, Donald and Edwin, both of the home; and sister, Elaine Schmidt, Newton.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Orlando Waltner. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Goessel.

Mrs. Fred Coleman

HARPER - Laura Esther Coleman, 96, died June 7, 1985, at Pine Dale, Wyo. after a long illness. Born Laura Esther Robinson April 7, 1889, at Pelee Island, Canada, she married Fred Coleman in 1915. He died in 1953. She was a resident of Pine Dale, Wyo., moving from Harper, where she was a resident for many years.

Survivors: sons, Fred, Argonia, Bob, Pine Dale, Wyo.; daughters, Virginia Larson, Chanute, Jean Lott, Danville, Helen Warren, Medicine Lodge; 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Fuenral[sic] Home, the Rev. Bill Parks. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Danville. Memorials to the Diabetes Association.

SATANTA - Rosie May Dickens, 87, Satanta, died June 8, 1985, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City. Born March 6, 1898, at Enid, Okla., she married James "Jim" Moody on March 5, 1915, at Gate, Okla. He died Dec. 5, 1961. She married L.R. "Curley" Dickens on Aug. 25, 1966, at Dodge City. He died Nov. 23, 1977. A housewife, she came to Haskell County in 1921 from Bucklin.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rebecca Lodge, Good Sam Club, Southwest Royalty Association, 50-year Pin Kilkare EHU Club, all of Satanta, and the Moose Lodge, Dodge City.

Survivors: son, Otto C. Moody, Topeka; daughter, Leoti Blair, Satanta; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Kip Ryherd. Burial in the Dudley Township Cemetery, Satanta. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette, and Tuesday at the church. Memorials, to the Arthritis Foundation, may be left at the funeral home.

OSAGE CITY - E. Gene Reid, 84, Osage City, died June 8, 1985, in Brookside Manor, Overbrook. Born March 2, 1901, in Mercer County, Mo., he married Leona M. Powell May 24, 1924, at Linneus, Mo. She died Dec. 7, 1979. A schoolteacher and school superintendent, his career included 14 years at Sublette and 16 years at Johnson.

He was a member of the Rotary Club, Johnson, Kiwanis Club, Osage City, and the Osage City United Methodist Church.

Survivors: son, Jack, Artesia, N.M.; daughters, Mrs. Jay Bond, Topeka, Mrs. Bill King, Cloudcroft, N.M.; sister, Mrs. Bonnie Fields, Wichita; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Crable Funeral Chapel, Osage City. Burial at Osage City Cemetery.

Albert John Sterneker

CUNNINGHAM - Albert John Sterneker, 82, died June 9, 1985, at Pratt Regional Medical Center. Born March 14, 1903, near Cunningham, he married Olinda Zenzinger Aug. 18, 1925, at Cunningham. She died Oct. 3, 1963. He was a retired farmer and was a lifetime resident of Cunningham.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cunningham, and the Knights of Columbus, St. Leon. He had served on the rural township board for many years.

Survivors: sons, Al Joe and Bob, both of Cunningham; sister, Marie Sterneker, Cunningham; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Parish Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Monday followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, Father Don Thissen. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call until service time at the funeral home.

NEWTON - H. Roland van der Smissen, 85, died June 9, 1985, at Bethel Home for the Aged, Newton. Born June 2, 1900, at Summerfield, Ill., he married Linda Kliewer Aug. 5, 1925, at Hammon, Okla. She died Dec. 12, 1978. He was a retired public schoolteacher and was a resident of Newton since 1974, moving from Highland Springs, Va.

He was a member of the Bethel College Mennonite Church, the Lions Club, a life member of the Virginia Educational Association, member of the Richmond Area Retired Teachers Association, the Masonic Lodge, Carson City, Nev., and an Honorary life member of the Virginia Congress PTA.

Survivors: daughter, Hope Smook, Richmond, Va.; sister, Hilda Voran and Frieda C. Andreas, both of North Newton, Elizabeth Clemmer, Fort Wayne, Ind., Edna Cowsert, Junction, Texas, Ruth Johnson, Huntington, Ind.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sister Frieda Chapel, Newton, the Rev. Don Kaufman and chaplin Jim Cox. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Friends may call all day Monday and until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Draper-Cannon Funeral Home, Newton. Memorials to the Bethel Home for the Aged in care of the funeral home.

Donald R. Wilson, 44, of Fremont, Ohio, former Wichita and Parsons resident, Criterion Machinery salesman, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 1991. Service has been held.
